A Way Of Life

In life, people are always looking for something, anything that speaks out to them. Something louder than words that calls out and can help guide them, make them feel comfortable, and all around make them feel better. For me, that is music. I can remember when my first band started. My friends and I got together and started to play Weezer's "Say It Ain't So", at this point it was a band of 5 of us. We called ourselves "The Diktaters", and we played everything we could; ska, punk, metal, pop, classical, reggae, and more. But we disbanded for the reason that we all had different musical interest. I've been in many bands, though mostly with the same people every time was a different experience, playing different genres of music, using different techniques. Some of the bands I've been in are Louder Than Words, A Dying Breed, Amygdala, Deathwish Of A Martyr, E0n Mach1ne, and Silent Suburbia. The latter two being the most recent and up to date. After all the bands I've been in and played shows with I still find the one that spoke to me the most to be Deathwish Of A Martyr. The show I had played with that band was the biggest and most definitely the most fun. It was played in a bar in Worcester, MA, and we made friends with a lot of the other bands there, (most notably the 80's thrash metal band Shallow Ground). The other bands knew it was our first show as a band and they all supported us. I think this event made me realize how important music was to me. It helped me to break through a lot of barriers in my life and pushed me to further myself as a musician, a performer, and a person.
